ABOUT OUR MANSION
A paradise for antiques lovers, rich in history and elegance.
With a little bit of well-concealed modernity.
An enchanting labyrinth of vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces and original frescoes is waiting for you in the heart of the medieval borgo of Palaia (Pisa). Our four level family palace was thoroughly restored during 19th Century, but its origin date back to A.D. 1000: it was once part of the borgo castle.
Today, Antica Dimora Leones is a paradise for antiques lovers.
And not surprisingly, since the owner’s grandparents were antiques collectors and dealers. Their love for art and their taste still lives here, and you can really see and feel it while entering rooms and corridors.
Every single space is special and has unique details: from the frescoed walls at the “noble floor” to the wooden beamed ceiling of the former servants floor, with its panoramic view on the rooftops.
At each floor you’ll find a gorgeous sitting room or library with books, comfy armchairs and beautiful objects everywhere.
You’ll enjoy your complimentary buffet breakfast (including local prosciutto, cheese, and homemade cakes) either in the wooden beamed dining room (made out of the ancient stable) or under a centenary wisteria in the peaceful garden.
Here and there, a few touches of discrete modernity will make your stay even comfortable: from the seven-person hydropool in the vaulted basement to air conditioning in most of the rooms.
Not far from Firenze and Pisa, Antica Dimora Leones is a perfect base for exploring Tuscany. And less than 50 minutes away, don’t miss the lovely Etruscan town of Volterra.
